Different brands generate the unlock code differently. Here's how to know what to send us.
To retrieve your factory radio unlock code, we need one key piece of information — but whether that's your radio serial number or your vehicle VIN depends on the make.
Most brands — including Honda, Acura, Toyota, GM (TheftLock), Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes, Suzuki, Volvo and more — tie the code to the radio's own serial number. You read it from a button combination on the radio or from the label on the unit.
For Daewoo, Dodge/Chrysler, Jaguar and Land Rover, the code is generated from your 17-character VIN. The big advantage: you don't have to remove the radio — your VIN is on the dashboard, door jamb, and registration.
Our Find Your Code tool tells you instantly: pick your vehicle and it shows exactly what to send and where to find it. Or just choose your brand on the order page — each one spells out the requirement.
