Your Acura shows COdE. Five digits on the preset buttons. The one thing that catches people out: if you mistype, do not start over. Full steps below — free.
Your Acura audio system disables itself any time it is cut off from electrical power, and it will not produce sound until the correct five-digit code is entered on the preset buttons. That is the point of it — a radio pulled out of one car is useless in another.
You will meet it after any of these:
Use the preset buttons — the same ones you store your favourite stations on — to key in the five-digit code. Enter it correctly and the radio starts playing straight away.
This is the important bit. If you press a wrong digit, do not start over and do not try to correct it.
Finish the full five-digit sequence, let it be rejected, and then enter the correct code cleanly. Trying to back up mid-code is what burns attempts.
You get three tries. After three failures the display shows COdE.E and you must leave the system switched on for one hour before it will accept anything again.
Your preset stations were wiped when the power was lost, so you will need to store them again once the radio is working.
If you have battery or electrical work coming up, find your code first. Far easier to have it in hand than to discover the radio is locked when the car comes back.
