Lexus factory audio units have a built-in anti-theft system. When power is cut, the unit locks and the display shows SEC. It stays silent until the correct security code is entered. That usually happens after:
Nothing is wrong with the unit. It is waiting for proof that it is still in the car it belongs to.
Lexus is Toyota's luxury brand, and its factory audio units use the same security system: a three-digit code and the same SEC display. So we retrieve Lexus codes exactly the way we retrieve Toyota codes. When you order, use our Toyota order page and put "Lexus" plus your model and year in the vehicle field. The code that comes back is the one for your Lexus unit.

The sticker is on the chassis, so the radio has to come out of the dash to read it. If you are unsure what you are looking at, email us with your year and model and we will tell you what to look for.
Hold the button shown in our free Lexus code entry guide until SEC starts blinking — that is the unit telling you it is ready to accept the code. Then key in your three-digit security code. Once the third digit lands, the system reactivates and the sound comes back.
You get three chances to enter the correct code. Get it wrong more than three times and the unit goes into Lock Out, and you must wait 61 minutes. After the wait you get three more tries before it locks out again. Three wrong guesses costs you an hour, every time — which is why the right code should be in hand before anyone starts pressing buttons.
