To get your Suzuki radio code, send us the serial number from the label on the side of the radio, and we email the four-digit factory code back. Suzuki radios also have an extra step most brands do not — the AF digit — and this page explains it.
When a Suzuki factory radio loses power, its anti-theft lock kicks in. The next time the key goes to ACC or ON and the power/volume knob is pressed, the display flashes F or COdE, and the radio will not play until the security code goes in. The usual reasons:
On a label on the side of the radio chassis. It is a 4 to 15 character code made of letters and numbers. Because the label is on the chassis, the radio has to come out of the dash to read it. Copy it exactly — a single wrong character points at a different radio. If you are not sure what you are looking at, email us a photo of the label. AF stands for Area Frequency. On these units it is a single-digit setting that comes before the security code, and it is the step people miss: they try to key the security code straight in while the radio is still waiting for the AF digit. If AF is showing, deal with it first. Once it is in, COdE flashes and the radio is ready for the real code.
